Picanha is a very popular cut of beef in Portugal and Brazil and is often referred to as the rump cap. Picanha's fat layer makes it extremely tasty and the cut is triangular in shape, and the tip is definitely worth a family fight.

Picanha definitely doesn't need any fancy marinades or add-ons as this top rump cap is lean, tender, and has a deep beef flavour which is heightened by searing it over high heat with wood if possible.

Best to salt the fat side and braai or cook it fat side down for as much as possible and then sear the meat side
